MACHINIST (Bay Machine & Fabrication)

Machinist
Bay Machine and Fabrication, located on the waters of San Francisco Bay where the Estuary meets the Bay, is seeking a highly motivated Machinist to join our rapidly growing team. Bay Machine and Fabrication is a full service manufacturing company specializing in large scale metal fabrication, precision machining, and industrial hydraulics. With over 60,000 square feet of dedicated space, we are uniquely positioned and qualified to support heavy industry in and around the San Francisco Bay Area. As a Machinist you will plan, set-up, and perform a sequence of machining operations to produce high quality parts. No two days are alike!
Responsibilities:
- Plan, set-up, and operate the Lathe, with a high degree of accuracy and pride in one's job,
- Plan, set-up, and operate manual mills and other station machine tools, with a high degree of accuracy, and pride in the job,
- Perform accurate inspections and verification of the product utilizing basic Quality Control measuring tools, and record the findings.
- Interpret drawings, charts, sketches, specifications, and other documentation for parts to be machined.
- Ability to program, set-up, and operate CNC & ProTRAK machines is a plus
- Work with attention to detail while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
- Complete special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Proven ability and experience in the above mentioned responsibilities.
- Should have strong mechanical and technical abilities/experience to complete a job from start to finish.
- Knowledge of the machining properties of various materials.
- Knowledge of the various types of tooling available.
- Detail oriented, reliable, responsible, and be able to work independently.
- Must have a personal basic machinist tool set; intricate tools will be provided.
- Ability to work as a team member is necessary..
- An AA from a Technical College or CC in machining is preferred.
- Previous work experience in an ISO 9001 machine shop is a plus.
- Experience working with FANUC, FAGOR, and ProtoTRAK controllers is a plus.
